Brief outline How we work Reports
How we work
Plan of work
1. For the 2006/2007academic year, any partner institutes that need a visiting lecturer should send an official letter providing the following information:
A: Confirmation that the institute is prepared to receive the visiting lecturer(s)
B: Names of the courses or modules which the visiting lecturer will teach
C: A description of teaching conditions, support facilities (e.g., teaching materials, accommodations) and/or preferred techniques
D: Number of students
E: Level of students

2. The official letters should arrive at the secretariat no later than the 30th of September 2006. As soon as the letters are received, the secretariat will request two nominations for qualified lecturers from each of the other partner institutes, along with the candidates curriculum vitae, job title, and brief descriptions of the courses or modules they are currently teaching. Visiting lectureships entail work both with students aged between 17 and 21 years old and more senior persons. Hence, candidates should be selected with care. Another consideration is the security of the guest lecturers.

3. After the secretariat finalises a list of successful candidates, the names will be passed to the RF for confirmation. The selection process, based on the following criteria, should be completed by the 30th of November 2006:
A: The qualifications of applicants should match the courses or modules requested.
B: Only one of the two nominated lecturers from every partner institute can be selected.
C: A visiting lecturer appointee and a requesting institute cannot belong to the same home country.

4. One month prior to the visiting lecturer’s outbound departure, the secretariat will provide each appointee with funding covering the cost of a return flight ticket, accommodations abroad, insurance, and living expenses for a one-month residency.

5. Visiting lecturers must produce a report on their experiences abroad, complete with visual documentation, within one month of their return to their home country. Failure to promptly fulfil this obligation would have negative impact on the entire project.

6. Each host institute is also required to produce a report, with visual documentation, describing their experience with the visiting lecturer. This report should be filed within one month of the lecturer’s return home.

7. The secretariat will examine the reports and will obtain any necessary corrections or clarifications before forwarding the completed documents to the RF.

8. Letters for requesting a visiting lecturer for the 2007/ 2008 academic year should arrive at the secretariat by the 30th of September 2007.
