Curatorial process is a key of encouraging local curators
based in the Mekong region to conceptualise the identity
of people and place they are in. Approximately four
appointed curators from Cambodia, Laos P.D.R., Thailand,
and Vietnam are arranged to work together in order
to establish a central theme that leads to a sequence of
four subordinated topics. Each of the topics allows each
curator to merge his/her home country’s artistic and
cultural diversities into the exhibition.
The Curatorial and Exhibition Project also serves as
a challenging experiment to explore a cross-boarders
collaboration. This particular two-year project will send
the exhibition to Cambodia, Laos P.D.R, Thailand, and
Vietnam. For this, the procedures encourage the curators
to observe the influences of various environments in
different art venues on the exhibition. It is hoped that
the exhibition will offer a platform for audience to explore
the identity of their own and that of people who live in
the same region.
