The traditional and contemporary art practices in
the Mekong region have been healthily and continuously
developed. On the contrary, the area of art history, art
research, and art criticism are not yet exercised with
the same degree. The aim of the Research and Seminar
Awards is to encourage both practice and theoretical-based
researchers to utilise the traditional and contemporary
art practices as data or informative resources for their
research and/or seminar proposal.
The Research and Seminar Awards invites participating
art institutes and creative individuals / groups / organizations
within the Mekong region to compete for research and/or
seminar grants in order to contribute new knowledge.
Proposals are invited in the fields of traditional/historical
art, art practice/technique, and contemporary art.
Five research and seminar projects are provided for each
with a projected duration of 18 months.
