Two-Year Art Collaboration Across SE Asia
Between 2003 and 2006, the College of Arts, Hue University, Vietnam, and the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture, and Graphic Arts, Silpakorn University, Thailand carried out a collaborative project which was made possible by the generous financial support and enthusiasm of The Rockefeller Foundation, Southeast Asia Regional Office. The aim was to exchange academic information and resources between the two institutions through a variety of collaborative activities. The results were fruitful, rich, and illuminate a number of other potential types of creative collaborative projects. These two institutes therefore expanded these valuable learning experiences to include other art institutes within the region.

The Mekong Art and Culture Project is a two-year collaboration of leading art institutes across Southeast Asia including Cambodia, Laos P.D.R., Thailand, and Vietnam. The aim is to expand and encourage contemporary art and culture movement as well as valuable learning community based experiences within the region.

Since August 2006, the project has been sponsored by The Rockefeller Foundation, Southeast Asia Regional Office. The project will be completed in July 2008.
